On
January 19, 2003, Small-sided games was formally
adopted by the Nebraska State Soccer Association
Board of Directors. In Spring 2004, US Youth Soccer
introduced standard rules and regulations, which
were adopted by the Nebraska State Soccer Association
on April 18, 2004.
To
view the Rules and Addendum for each age group click
on the respective link below. The table also shows
the number of players for Fall 2004 season which
is year two of the three-year implementation process.
The U10 and U8 age groups have the rules listed
for when implementation is completed. No changes
are in place for 2004; however, leagues and clubs
may choose to adopt small-sided games rules and
regulations early so make sure you are aware of
the rules under which your games will be played.
Be
aware that National Rules state no more than twice
the number of players on the field may be rostered
to any particular team. For U11/U12 (8v8), that
means the maximum roster size is sixteen players.
